New in 2019, South Haven has been designated as one of the first Pure Michigan Trail Towns and Old Harbor Inn is at the center of it all. Right out your door you can connect on the City’s extensive bike routes that connect to the State’s bike trial system. Or step outside and enjoy the Maritime District’s Harborwalk, rent a Kayak at Black River Park, stroll to South Beach and test your skills at Kite Boarding, paddle boards, kayaks and more.
South Haven’s harbor lies just outside your window and you can enjoy your time on the water by going Charter Fishing, a Boat Tour including a cruise on the Friends Good Will, a replica of a sailing ship that saw service during the War of 1812.

Beaches and parks surround Old Harbor. Of course both North and South Beach are within easy walking distance but you can also enjoy Stanley Johnson Park home of the City’s Art and All Crafts Fair, the Riverfront Park which is home to the City’s major outdoor festivals, riverfront concert series and more, Kids Corner as well as many of the City’s pocket beaches are within easy walking distance. One thing you cannot miss is sunset at the Lighthouse.

During the summer the choices increase with Captain Lou’s and of course the Idler and Admiral Jack’s on the river. No matter what you are seeking, there’s a dining choice for you.
Nightlife:

Old Harbor Inn is in the center of the entertainment business. If you’re looking for excitement it’s located outside your door. Captain Lou’s offers entertainment on the Harbor and is located right across the river from your room. Inside of Old Harbor itself you can enjoy the riverfront views from the Idler or Admiral Jacks, Or test the IPAs at South Haven Brewing.
Less than a block away you can dance the night away at Black River Tavern or enjoy a signature martini at Taste.

Be sure to check out South Haven’s Farmers Market on Wednesday and Saturday. If art sparks your interest we suggest South Haven Center for the Arts housed in South Haven’s own Carnegie Building. The Michigan Maritime Museum offers seasonal exhibits highlighting the history of our great lakes and many antique watercraft from days gone by. Or cross the street and take in a movie at South Haven’s historic Michigan Theatre.
Since before the arrival of the early settlers, the Native Americans call South Haven Ni-No-Kong, meaning “beautiful sunsets. You’ll love a stroll down to South Beach on the Harborwalk and take in one of the favorite past times in South Haven.
